Welcome Home

Well...it's been a VERY L.O.N.G. 18 months with my parents gone. We all have missed them SO much. The long-awaited day has finally arrived. During the last week of their stay on Kiritibati Island, I would anticipate what they must be doing now. Their last time to church, their last Botaki, their last family home evenings. As excited as I was to see them again, and have them back home - my heart was breaking for them to have to say goodbye to their new "family" on the islands. A family which they will have little to no contact with again during this life time. What a blessing it is that we have the knowledge of eternity. That we know we can see our loved ones again.

While they were saying their goodbyes, we were on the other side of the ocean, excitedly waiting to say our hello's. They have been such an example to all of us in so many ways. I just hope that when I grow up, I can be exactly the same as them.

Most of the people you see here are with our group - no one was about to miss this event!
Our first glimpses of Grandma and Grandpa. I just wanted to run up that escalator and hug them right there, BUT...I showed self control!

Kamden checking out this Grandpa that he's heard so much about, but doesn't remember. It didn't take long for him to bond with his Grandpa.
I know they miss their Kiritibati family - but I'm so grateful to have them home with this family...at least for now, till they head out again to another unknown place, with more people to love.
